Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently asked Questions

What should I do if I experience septic odors in my home?

If you detect septic odors in your home, it could indicate a problem with your system, such as a full tank, clogged vent, or an issue with the drain field. Ensure all drains have water in their traps and inspect any exposed pipes for leaks. If the problem persists, contact a septic professional for assistance.

Are septic systems environmentally friendly?

When properly maintained, septic systems are an environmentally friendly way to treat wastewater on-site. They reduce pollution by filtering wastewater naturally and recharging groundwater. Regular maintenance and mindful use are key to ensuring your septic system operates in an eco-friendly manner.

What should I do if I sell my home with a septic system?

When selling a home with a septic system, ensure it's in good working condition by having it inspected and pumped if necessary. Providing maintenance records to potential buyers can offer peace of mind and demonstrate proper upkeep. Some regions may require a septic inspection before finalizing the sale.

How can I conserve water to protect my septic system?

Conserving water reduces the load and helps your system function efficiently. Simple steps include fixing leaks, installing low-flow fixtures, spreading out laundry loads, and turning off taps when not in use. Reducing water usage prolongs the life of your septic system and helps prevent overloading.

What Our Customers Say About Us

Mike was more than fantastic. He explained the basics of what he was going to do prior to looking and came back within minutes with a thorough report or what needed to be fixed and things we might have seen (all of which were spot on without an input from me!). Things were worse than I expected, but he thoroughly fixed everything and showed me pictures of each step he took so I’d know the condition of my tank when he left. He gave me extremely helpful tips of things to do for future (fixing downspouts to drain away from the leech field, explained how septic systems work, looked up my leech field on the Fort Meyers website and so much more). He was also very personable and we will be specifically requesting him in the future.

Absolutely amazed by this company and Adam. They came prepared for everything. I've never seen a company this prepared before. I will use them from now on. Not only did we recieve and education about the system Adam found the issues we have asked other companies about and said we had none. Adam fixed all our issues while emptying the system he added filter that was never installed and should have been from the very start and also installed a clean out so we can actually clean the filter ourselves . This is the only company I will trust with my septic from now on. I highly recommend this company and Adam the service tech .

Our septic system needed to be pumped and we had some drain line issues. Septic Blue was the first company (after trying several companies, at least two of which failed to show for their scheduled appointment and then told us to find someone else) to schedule an appointment quickly and to show up on time and get the requested work done. Our service technician, Andrew, was extremely pleasant to speak with, open to questions and he proved to be very knowledgeable. Andrew guided us through the process (we purchased this home late last year and I’ve not dealt with septic much before) and offers several options for both short term and long term solutions. We will definitely be using this company (and hopefully they will always send Andrew as our tech!) for all future work.

This is the second time we have used Septic Blue in two and a half years, and both times we have had a wonderful experience. Our septic system needed to be pumped. They were able to schedule us quickly and even called to show up a day early this time. Brett was very professional and great to work with. He was patient with us, while we asked several questions and he took the time to educate us on how to care of our system. He was extremely knowledgeable. I doubt I will ever need another Septic company, as they provide great service at a great value. I compared several companies before choosing this one and they beat competitor prices with pumping service that included digging out the tank and lifting our concrete lid. I highly recommend this company for your septic system needs.

I had called a couple of different companies to come pump my septic. Septic blue had the most competitive price and were able to come out in short notice. Lori answered the phone and took my appointment. I told her my septic was full and she quoted me a price. She was very pleasant and kept in contact with me. They did have to reschedule my appointment for the next day (Christmas eve) which was totally fine with me. They asked if morning would work for me, I agreed. Lori called me before arrival just to confirm and let me know who my technician would be. Bret the technician showed up on time. He informed us of some issues we'd need to get fixed, which we were aware we had a problem. He told us what we'd need to do and how to go about it. He did inform me that our septic was also overflowed and there would be charge for it. Although, he didn't charge the extra fee, since I wasn't informed of it. The two people I dealt with Lori and Bret had great customer service skills. This was my second time using this company to pump out my septic. I had a fantastic experience the first time as well. I really appreciated their help.

I really like Septic Blue. They want to get things done the right way and pronto. Everyone has a great attitude and they always want to give you priority. Had a problem with my septic tank, and given that it's the holidays, they could fit me in on a Thursday. Got a call this Monday morning asking if it was O.K. to come today. Had no issue whatsoever and was pleased to be moved up so soon. The technicians came in no time. Bret was the main guy and he had a new guy, Jordan, training with him. They were excellent and helped us out a lot. Identified the issues with our tank and dealt with them promptly. Considering all that was involved, I'm happy with how fast they handled it all. Since this is our first home and that it has a septic tank, we'll certainly be doing business with Septic Blue for some time. Highly recommend.

Excellent service! We had a technician (Jim Grabowski) at our house within 2 hours of calling for the routine septic pumping we needed to have done. Jim was polite and professional. He took the time to show us an issue he discovered and explained what needed to be done to fix it. He had all the necessary parts and equipment with him so he could take care of it right away and communicated the cost up front before he did the extra work. We are thankful that he didn’t just pump, but also took the extra time to inspect the components of our system to make sure everything was in good working order and clean so as to prevent future issues. We absolutely recommend this company and will be using them for our septic service needs in the future.

Joshua was exceptional. He was diligent about disseminating as much information about the process as possible. He took special care allow for any questions and concerns that I had. Which in turn, provided a more positive outlook in regards to the expectations and responsibilities directly related to the particulars of septic tank ownership. He was knowledgeable and thorough. A true professional and a credit to his personal ethics and the company that he represents.

We only called to have our septic tank cleaned, but once the tank was opened up, our tech (Brandon) gently let me know that there were a few unexpected issues with our system and that it wasn’t functioning properly. He patiently took time to explain how the whole system was designed to work and showed me which parts of it were malfunctioning. I asked lots of questions and he answered every one without hesitation. Brandon stuck to the facts and when decision time came on whether or not to take care of the unexpected issues, I didn’t once feel like he was trying to upsell or influence my decision in any way. I greatly appreciate that and Brandon’s professionalism, expertise and overall personable demeanor is why we’ll be calling these folks back for any septic needs in the future.

The young man named Mike who was sent out to do this job was extremely professional and very knowledgeable. He took the time to inform me of how the system at my residence should actually have been installed and then how it should actually function. Mike made it very obvious to me how the initial install of my system was deficient in several ways. Not only did he add the two pipes bringing my system up to current code he actually solved the problem I was having. I hope Mike stays employed with septic blue because the next time this chamber system needs to be pumped I hope Mike is the man being sent out to do the job

I called Septic Blue with an issue, I wasn't 100% sure what it was other than this horrible gurgling sound. Adam was out to help in no time, He was very knowledged on what he was doing and explained everything extremely well, broke down pricing and repairs that were going to be done to make sure I understood and could make the correct decision to what I could afford. He also went over what should be done after to maintain proper maintenance. Thank you again Adam. I would most Definitely recommend you guy.. Hopefully I won't need to reach out soon, But if I have any questions I know who to call.
